FABRICATED SPOOL POLISHING In many cases customers require that the ID and/or the OD of spool piping be mechanically polished or electropolished for non-stick applications, sanitary requirements or high purity applications. The ideal progression is to prepolish the pipe and fittings prior to fabrication and/or bending and then address welds with mechanical polishing followed by the electropolishing process. Fin-Tech can assist customers in the proper placement of flanges and field welds to enhance our ability to effectively polish all surfaces. Generally single digit roughness averages (Ra) can be achieved with the proper polishing sequence.
